A wide phylogenetic range of marine and terrestrial
invertebrate species are used to address specific
evolutionary hypotheses at both micro and macro
evolutionary scales. Several groups make use of
the tractability of Drosophilids to study major
issues in molecular evolution and population genetics.
Topics in life history and metazoan body plan evolution
are addressed from both a paleontological and developmental
perspective using phylogenetically key groups including
molluscs, hemichordates, echinoderms, and arthropods.
